Royale records require little introduction here at "The World of Budget Vinyl Records." This is Royale 45 rpm EP 117, a classical release featuring excerpts of Tchaikowsky's immortal classic, "The Nutcracker Suite." I am still amazed that Tchaikowsky begged to be released from his commission contract because he was reluctant to have it performed publically. It is nothing short of awe-inspiring every time I listen to any performance of any portion of the suite. I can only imagine his feelings when the inaugural performance's audience received the ballet and the score with such vigor and persistence that the entire score was performed in its entirety as an encore performance. This recording is taken from a 45 rpm extended play (EP) pressed on translucent red vinyl. The red translucent vinyl, is one of the main reason, besides being a part of a reasonably priced lot of Royale records on eBay, also a contributing factor of which induced me to add it, and seven other Royale 45s to what remains of my once great collection of Oberstien releases. The Audio was cleaned up with Audacity; for removing the more noticeable pops and clicks, my favorite audio restoration software duo, DeNoise and Click Repair, are not good at removing entirely. [Original label spellings listed] Side A Danse Chinoise The Trepak Nutcracker March (Tschaikowsky) Side B Waltz Of The Flowers Parts 1 & 2 (Tschaikowsky) Enjoy!
